A little mixed up on Holidays!

I have found more time this summer to hand sew during other activities than I had all winter long. I am just finishing yet another neglected project. I borrowed a similar runner from my sister-in-law just following Halloween last year. I loved the primitive feeling of the cats and pumpkins. I just used some wool felt I happened to have on hand and tried to replicate the runner. This is the end result. I made mine a little longer and more narrow. I am getting good at the blanket stitch. I only skewered my finger once! Now there is no more pressure to be done by next Halloween so my sister-in-law can use her decoration once more. Hooray.

I am the mother of four children. I have a love for the outdoors that runs deep. I love to camp, ride motorcycles, refurbish old things, grow delicious things to eat and haul wood in the fall. I believe in trying new things...life is an adventure waiting to be discovered! My favorite times are spent experiencing life with my children where I find my soul enriched in a way that is not calculable.

♥ A wishbone wish from me to you. ♥

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright. I wish you enough enough rain to help you appreciate the sun more. I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive. I wish you enough pain so the smallest joys in life appear much bigger. I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting. I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I wish you good friends to help you get through life. Author Unknown

♥ One of my favorite scribblings on friendship. ♥

When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares. ~Henri Nouwen
